How I’m Financing This

Updated: May 6, 2020

Multiple ways, as touched on here. In terms of personally financing the operation, I’ve been unable to sink much, if any, capital into it. But the situation seems to be looking a little brighter.

Earlier this month I applied to be a company dog walker. For the past several months I’ve been walking a friend‘s dog in the morning, Monday through Friday, while she’s at work. Including getting to my friend‘s and back, the job only takes about 50 minutes. It’s quick cash, makes me feel accomplished, and gives me time with a dog. With my other, mostly seasonal job struggling to offer hours during the winter, I decided to try to turn a fun daily routine into something more.

I’m shadowing other walkers through at least Valentine’s Day. The hope is I’ll soon be operating my own route with a built in client list. It’s part-time but daily, Monday through Friday, and consistent. Including travel time, it should feel like a 30-35-hour workweek. Best part: I can still walk my friend‘s dog. Stay tuned.
